Maybe it is in the genes...
My mom has always told me that I was a perfectionist. At a very young age, I kept my room very tidy and made my bed daily. Yesterday, I showed Brenden how to make his bed. This is what he did this morning.

Happy Valentine's Day
Have I ever told you how wonderful my husband is?
No, he did not bring me breakfast in bed, buy me a dozen roses, take me out to an expensive restaurant, or buy me everything that I have always wanted. He loves me.
We did share a burrito at a "hole-in-the-wall" authentic Mexican restaurant, split a cinnamon roll at Living Waters, and then this morning, we had heart shaped pancakes and eggs. But that is not why I love my husband. I love him because he is a blessing from God. My husband is sweet, kind, compassionate, passive, laid back, easy-going, passionate, loving, and generous. My husband is an amazing man of God. He loves the Lord with all his heart and seeks His Will daily. He is open and willing to allow God lead is heart.
My husband graciously works 2 jobs, and passionately serves the Lord by ministering to the teens at our church. He takes pride in what he does and always gives forth his best effort.
My husband is also a family man. He enjoys wrestling with the kids on the floor, playing games (Sequence for Kids is the favorite), cooking up special treats ( his donuts are the best), flying kites in the park, going on bike rides, and someday, I know he will take our kids golfing...his favorite, yet graciously set aside, activity. He also enjoys cooking (and, boy, is he amazing), building things/woodwork, staying close to family and friends, playing games, and...Many of these things he has not been able to do for quite awhile due to his very busy schedule. I know that he enjoys doing lots of other things, but he has laid aside his own desires for others, especially his family.
Honey, I love you more than words can express. Thank you for being the best husband ever! Most importantly, thank you for being a Godly man and spiritual leader of our home.
Happy Valentine's Day!

God is so Good
God has taken me on an amazing journey...that is not over yet. He has shown me His amazing power and love through relationships, books, and scripture. I do not know what God's plan is for my life...or even for my year, but I have faith that He will guide and direct my family according to His Will.
On a side note: I received a letter yesterday that said that I qualified to receive Music Theatre of Idaho Season passes (3 of them) at an extremely reduced price (Blessed are the poor...). For about $15, my family (excluding Brenden and Makenna) will be able to attend musicals throughout the year. I am very excited and feel very blessed!
On another side note: I made this video to send to my dad of Makenna enjoying her Christmas gift. The video was too big to send via email...so here it is on my blog! Enjoy!

Proud to be an American!
Brenden has truly amazed me in his ability to memorize things. Just from hearing Katelyn and Paige recite it during school, Brenden has memorized, with great clarity I might add, the Pledge of Allegiance! He wanted to recite it at our homeschool recital. Katelyn also memorized 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (Love Chapter), but got stage fright and left Paige to recite it herself. She did a fabulous job! I am still proud of Katelyn's ability and hard work to memorize God's Word! My desire is to now put Brenden's memorizing skills to also learn scripture and hopefully both of them with keep it close to their hearts.
I did video Katelyn reciting her verse at home.
One Benefit of Homeschooling!
It is official! Katelyn has completed her kindergarten math! She caught on to it rather quickly and flew through it. I ordered and received her 1st grade stuff, but I am going to wait a little while before I start. Right now she is working on a "Princess" workbook that she received as a gift. She is very excited to be doing "1st grade math".

Paige is hard at work!
