I would like to share my heart if I may. I am deeply saddened by our world today. It breaks my heart to see how much we have allowed sin to become apart of our culture and world...and how accepted it has become. I feel that God has called me to be different. He has opened my eyes to the world as He sees it. He is showing me how slowly our world is allowing sin to be acceptable, even in the Christian world. We fill our minds with tv, books, movies, music, and the Internet that portray sin as acceptable and even "cool", and yet struggle to find time to spend reading God's Word. I am saddened by how girls and ladies dress in order to be "trendy". How bikinis, low cut tops, short skirts and shorts, and all around tight clothing have become the norm. I am saddened at how we are trying to turn our little children into "mini teenagers" by how we dress them and allow them to act. I am saddened by how in effort to "bring the world in" we are becoming more like "the world". I am saddened by how much the world has turned from God, that I fear for my children all the evil this world has to offer. I hurt for people that are so blinded by their sin and they don't see it for what it is. As Christians, we are to be set apart and seek the high standards of living that God desires for our lives. We are to desire to grow in Him daily and to teach our children about His love, grace, hope, mercy, etc. Yet, we spend our days busying ourselves with worldly things and worrying so much about how we look to others, that we forget that God's opinion of us is the only one that counts.
When I said earlier that God has called me to be different, I want you to know that this is a life process. I struggle daily with pride and envy of others. I worry about things before I remember to give it to God. He is molding me into the person He wants me to be, but I can guarantee that I have a lot of work still to be done. I do not write this to condemn, but to share God's Truth. He has laid it on my heart to share this with my friends, and all that I can do is obey...not judge. I know that this world is full of sin, because Satan is very present. But as Christians, God does not want us to forget about the details of our lives. He wants us to live for Him, not this world. I pray that God can purify your heart as He is desiring to do with mine. I love you my friends.
"Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."

"Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness." 1 Timothy 6:11
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life." Psalm 139; 23-24

Happy Birthday Katelyn!
Happy Birthday Katelyn!
You are a very special girl! I have truly enjoyed watching you grow into a beautiful young lady. Your love for Jesus and others is evident in all you do. I have loved being able to teach you how to read and open up a new world to you. My prayer for you is that you will continue to love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and strength. I love you, Katelyn!

Katelyn's day started with breakfast with daddy at the Honker...yummy, hot cinnamon roll!
Katelyn decided she did not want to have a party, but rather a friend date. Two of her best friends, Jenna and Ainsley, came over. They made calizones, painted little pony figurines, and then went swimming at the REC center.
Our evening will then conclude with dinner at Katelyn's FAVORITE restaurant, Olive Garden. We are celebrating with family tomorrow night over Fondue (another favorite of Katelyn's)!

100th POST
Finally!
Well, to be honest, I am coming up blank with 25 more things to tell you about myself. So, I am going to tell you 25 things that God is doing in my life...
75. Calling me to be set apart from the world.
76. Asking me to COMPLETELY depend on HIM.
77. Refining me
78. Teaching me patience,
79. Contentment,
80. and Trust.
81. Asking me to Wait on Him.
82. Preparing my family for His Plan
83. Showing me that He is Greater then my struggles.
84. Teaching me humility,
85. Mercy,
86. Forgiveness,
87. and grace.
88. Giving me a desire for His Wisdom
89. and His Word.
90. Helping me to relate to people from the Bible
91. Showing me my layers and helping me to shed them under His Grace.
92. Helping me to depend on Him for the little stuff
93. How important it is to carry His Word in my heart (through memorization)
94. How often I need to remove my own log from my eye before I try to remove the speck from my friend's eye.
95. How important it is for me to represent the character qualities I greatly desire to teach my children.
96. Showing me how wonderful of a husband He has given me.
97. How I need to show him that daily.
98. The grass is not greener on the other side.
99. God will meet me where I am.
100. My life motto: JOY - Jesus first, Others second, and Yourself last. (Yes, I got this from the Duggers)
**These are all things that God is teaching me...and I am still learning.

He has Risen!
What a joyful time of year remembering what Christ has done for us! Because He Lives, we can face tomorrow! Because He Lives, all fear is gone! Because I know He holds the future! All because He Lives!
Praise the Lord!
A little recap of our time of celebration...
Stuffing eggs for the Eggstravaganza!

Fun at the Eggstravaganza!

Palm Sunday...the kids also sang in church on this day, but I videoed using the old-fashioned camcorder!

Easter Sunday! My mom sent my kids some baskets full of goodies! Makenna had a little fever, so she was not feeling all that great. We celebrated at my brother's house with a BBQ.

The kids helped dad make dinner that night...fun and messy!

Biscuits and the Resurrection!
Our morning of making biscuits turned into a lesson about Christ's resurrection. After choosing the cross, gingerbread man, and heart to cut out our biscuits, the story began to unfold. We made the gingerbread man to represent Jesus and the hearts to represent "God's love" (spoken by Katelyn.) It was a wonderful time to talk to my children about what happens after the crucifixion. It was a joyful time to explain the true meaning of Easter. God is so good!
